Over the last year or so since the Covid pandemic forced much of the world to temporarily shut down, we have been forced to adapt a more virtual setting using technology to connect with others and to view conferences.

As human beings, we are designed to network and connect and most of my great accomplishments in life have been helped and guided along by connecting with others. Improving your odds of success at cryptocurrency investing and trading are no different.

Connecting with others, whether it be online or in person, and learning from others is a key part to the growth process. In this How To Crypto blog, we will look at the importance of connecting with others, both in person and virtually, and what you can do to become better connected to what is happening in the cryptocurrency space to stay in the loop of what is happening and new developments.

In person events are starting to happen again and it is important, if possible, you attend those that are feasible for you to travel to. Last month, Newscrypto participated in the Miami Crypto Experience, a 3 day event that included a vendor booth hall, an NFT Art Gala networking night, keynote speakers, and over 40 interactive workshops on a wide variety of cryptocurrency related topics.

These events can help you to answer those questions face to face, either with a speaker, workshop teacher, or at a vendor booth to learn more about projects and why they are important to the cryptocurrency space. Events help you to build your belief in the cryptocurrency space and to build your connections as well.

Back in 2018 when the cryptocurrency market was in a full bear market, meaning market prices across the board were falling, many people lost hope and faith and thought it was just a fad that was ending and cryptocurrency had no future. I personally travelled to many events that year and learned the exact opposite. Those events solidified my faith in the future of cryptocurrency and set me on the path to teach others that this is the future.

What I saw was that even though market prices were dropping, companies and venture capitalists were putting millions of dollars into continuing to build infrastructure and launch projects to advance the space. This helped to build my belief that cryptocurrency was moving forward at full steam. You also don’t always need to attend large events to meet others in the cryptocurrency space.

Smaller group meetups happen all the time all over the world. Many cities have active groups that hold either frequent meetups just to get together and talk crypto and keep the community connected. I challenge everyone to find local meetups in their area to connect with others. If there is no formal meetup in your area, create one. Quite a few times in the beginning, it would just be 2 to 3 of us sitting around talking about crypto. Over time, word spreads and more and more will come.  I’ve formed many great friendships at these meetups.

I will provide a few resources below, to help you find information on upcoming events and meetups.

Virtual events are a great option in addition to in person events, and especially if you are still unable to travel to in person events. Virtual events have included anything from a company holding an informational session to a full conference with a speaker lineup with all speakers and attendees attending virtually through zoom or some other video conferencing tool.

Early on during the pandemic, I saw several organizations using Facebook groups and Facebook live videos to host events. We have the technology now to allow anyone to have access to information, so being uninformed is totally a choice each person makes. Virtual events give you access to hear from people all over the globe and in many cases people you may not have had access to hear from without these virtual events. Even as more and more in person events begin to happen again, there will always be a place going forward for virtual events, and many events will become a hybrid, allowing attendees to either attend in person or attend a virtual live stream session.

I’ve even seen events utilize virtual worlds, like Decentraland, to allow users virtual avatars to attend events hosted within virtual convention centers. Also, many companies use their social media channels to host live and interactive AMA’s where you can ask the teams anything about their projects and get your questions answered. I’ve seen these happen live on Twitter, Facebook, and even in each project’s Telegram group chat, as Newscrypto has done this quite often. If there is a project you want to learn more about, make sure you follow them on all of their social channels.

This will allow you to stay up to date on all the latest development and news, and to avoid being swayed by false news articles which are rampant in the world as news has become less about reporting truth and more about reporting sensational stories to attract viewers.

Now that you understand the importance of events, both virtual and in person, here are some resources that will help you find the next event or meetup to attend. Coinmarketcal, which can be found at , while this calendar resource has way more than just meeting events, it lists key dates that projects will have certain announcements or releases.

This allows you to plan better to learn more and also can help you with timings of when to enter and exit trades based on news. For larger events, both in person and virtual, https://eventchain.io/home and https://www.cryptoninjas.net/conferences/ are great resources to find out about upcoming events. T

he Miami Crypto Experience will be held twice a year and details can be found at www.expcrypto.io. The Meetup app and even Facebook events page can help you find information about events coming soon, both in person and virtual.

You can also find an events tab on many of the top market data sites and crypto news sites, like CoinMarketCap, Coingecko, Coindesk, and Cointelegraph. Each one highlights different ones so make sure to check each resource listed frequently to find the best ones to attend. Events are a great educational resource for everyone to grow during their cryptocurrency journey so dig in and lock some in on your calendar. I look forward to meeting many of you at future events.
