This week is the peak of the holiday season with many across the world celebrating Christmas, or other holidays depending on your beliefs and area of the world.

Also, many will gather to celebrate the new year as we all bid goodbye to 2020 which has been a very challenging year for most. Regardless, it is a time for families and friends to gather and in many cases exchange gifts.

It is also a time when you may see people you do not normally see on a regular basis. This year that could be in person or even virtually. As loved ones spark conversations about many things including recent events, the topic of Bitcoin may probably come up, especially if your loved ones know that you are involved or interested, or in some cases, they may have felt bad for you over the past couple of years when Bitcoin was in a tumultuous bear market.

Top that off with the excessive printing of US Dollars and many other fiat currencies across the globe and many are quickly losing trust in their country’s currency and open to alternatives. This is a time to share what you have learned and share the resources that have helped you along the way. Here are a few tips to help make the biggest impact on the ones that you love.

1. Make sure to ready our How-to Crypto Blog Bitcoin For Beginners that was published just a few weeks ago. Here is a quick link to take you there: https://newscrypto.io/blog/bitcoin-for-beginners

This is a great blog for you to read up on before you meet with any friends or family. The important thing is to keep it simple. If you dive deep into hash power and nonce and other crypto-related terms then you may see their eyes glaze over and it will not be from the eggnog.

Feel free to share this blog with them as well. It will help with their understanding, but also, if they become interested and excited about learning more, there is a good chance they will want to share with others. So, to stop the vicious cycle of saying way too much and confusing people more than you are teaching them, just keep it simple and forward this blog to them. There are many other resources but it is important not to drown anyone with information.

2. Have your loved ones download the Newscrypto app (let them know the app is in beta mode and they will get to experience all the great features as the full version rolls out soon) and create a free account on the Newscrypto platform. Share your referral link from Newscrypto platform with them because you can benefit if they decide to pay for intermediate or advanced membership, or if they decide to purchase NWC tokens.

Once they are members, as they decide to learn more, they can browse through the Newscrypto school section and learn at their own pace.

3. Now it is time to show them all the other resources where they can buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. They already are on Newscrypto so they can buy NWC tokens there, but for Bitcoin or others, share with them the places available to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with either their bank account or credit cards.

Kucoin offers several options, but this will depend on where you live and what resources are available to you. In the USA, the most popular are Crypto.com, Coinbase, and Gemini. Help them to set up these accounts so they can accumulate as they learn and decide to buy crypto. Some of these exchanges also have referral programs so be sure to share your referral links with your loved ones.

By now, we have recommended a few resources to you, and if you want to be efficient with it, gather the blog link and your referral links and have them all saved in one place where you can just copy and paste in a message to them. Just know, a mass text message to all your contacts with your referral links is never a good idea. Most will dismiss and possibly ignore important messages from you in the future. However, after having a conversation and identifying their interest and curiosity, sending them your referral links can be highly effective.

4. Giving the gift of crypto can be one of the best ways to introduce your friends and family to the crypto world. The best way to do this and also teach them how it works at the same time is to have them download a mobile wallet, show them how to set it up, and then send them some crypto. Show them your actions also that way they get exposure to the wallet set up, sending, and receiving process.

This will help to eliminate or reduce the anxiety some have which may have deterred them from jumping into the cryptocurrency world. If you want to have something physical to give them, you can print out paper wallets, add Bitcoin to them, and insert them in a holiday card.

The three most popular BTC paper wallet generators are Bitaddress.org, Bitcoinpaperwallet.com, and Walletgenerator.net. If you decide on a paper wallet, then just know that it is best to disconnect from the internet after downloading the file and before generating the wallet. Also, know that if your paper wallet is lost and a copy is not kept, you could lose access to whatever you deposit in that wallet.

It may be best to keep a copy until you verify that those you have gifted it to have moved it from the paper wallet to a wallet they control such as a hardware wallet or mobile wallet. Most gifts given during the holiday time are rarely used or used up after one use. Gifting your loved ones with some crypto along with some knowledge on why it is important can be the best gift you can give them. So put down those tacky socks you are considering as a gift and give them some crypto for Christmas.

There is a good chance you will not make believers out of all of your loved ones this holiday season and may encounter some skeptics. Do not get offended if someone does not believe you or they challenge your beliefs. Just continue to share what you know and the resources provided.

Those of us that experienced the skepticism over the past few years are seeing the fruits of that patience as many of our loved ones, who were once very skeptical, are now wishing they had listened sooner.

We still have a long road to go for mass adoption and also we must emphasize it is not too late to benefit financially. But we must all remember that EDUCATION COMES BEFORE ADOPTION.

Wishing you all happy holidays and a happy New Year!
